Our Story

We built what the category
wasn't willing to

The functional skincare revolution changed how adults think about their skin. Prebiotics. Microbiome science. Products that work with the body — not against it. Nobody brought that science to the baby aisle. Until Nest.

Our Story Hero

A deep understanding of living systems — how microorganisms make life possible, how working with nature always wins — led to one question nobody was asking: What if the most-used product in baby care fed the skin instead of just cleaning it?

The gut microbiome revolution had already proved the principle. Prebiotics feed the good bacteria that keep the gut healthy. The same science applies to skin. Especially developing skin. Especially during the first two years — the window when the skin microbiome forms and the foundation is laid.

Every piece of research examined. Two prebiotics chosen — not one, because one wasn't enough. Fifteen ingredients selected because every single one serves the biology. pH 5.0–5.4 because that's where the microbiome thrives.

That's NatureBiome™. That's Nest. This is what baby care looks like when it's built around living biology.

My background isn't clinical. It's environmental.

I spent years studying how biological systems break things down — microbes in soil, in compost, in nature. How living ecosystems do quiet work when the conditions are right.

That's what led me to the skin. Same principles. The microbiome thrives when you work with it. It struggles when you don't.

I looked at what we were putting on babies' skin six to ten times a day and thought — we can build something that actually works with the biology. Not around it. A diaper that keeps skin dry and protected. A wipe that works with that environment, not against it. Two prebiotics. A pH that matches healthy skin. Ingredients I can explain and stand behind.

A system. Two products that know what the other is doing.

I don't cut corners on this stuff because I genuinely love it. The science, the formulation, the problem. I've been chasing this my whole career.

Every kid deserves skin that's being cared for from the start — not treated after something goes wrong. That's the difference between reactive and proactive. That's the whole reason Nest exists.

Lifestyle

Ana Gulde didn't just co-found Nest — she opened the doors. A background in fashion, beauty, and baby category sales gave her the eye for what earns a place in a parent's routine. But what makes Ana irreplaceable is simpler than that.

She's the person everyone wants to talk to. The one who makes Nest feel like a community you want to be part of, not a brand asking for your attention. She carries the mission into every relationship, every room, every conversation.

The way Nest shows up in the world — at Target, online, in the hands of the people who love it most — that's Ana.
